Artwork Guidelines

We are here to help...

Sky Marketing can help with the creation or modification of your artwork.

This is often a simple process of reproduction of your logo on the promotional item but there are also times when we need to have more complex art created for example a sublimation printed towel or tent.

Sky Marketing have an in house capability which will work with you to ensure your branding is presented correctly on the promotional item you have chosen.

There may be a cost for this depending on the complexity of the job and order quantities.

The great thing is that once we have the approved high quality artwork on file we can use this time and time again for you.

All items are proofed back to you before going to print.

Below are some useful guidelines to assist you with the initial supply of artwork to Sky Marketing.

The Pantone ® Matching System is the industry standard

This colour chart should be used as guide only , colour variations WILL occur across different monitors and from monitor to print. PANTONE® and other Pantone, Inc. trademarks are the property of Pantone, Inc.

Before emailing artwork

Check file is in the correct file format the name of the file will have a file extension of  ".eps" or ".ai".  Vectored files such as this are best.

All typefaces must be converted to outlines.

Pantone PMS colours must be supplied for accurate colour matching.

Any large files over 10 megabytes should be sent to us via an FTP website such as www.yousendit.com or www.dropbox.com rather than email.

JPEG (.jpeg or .jpg) Files

High resolution 300ppi (pixels per inch) jpeg files are fine for printing products like mouse mats or coffee mug decals.

For pad printing or engraving of metal or plastic promotional products artwork needs to be re-illustrated as a vector format.

See the branding page to explain pad printing etc.

'Pixels Per Inch' is relative to the size of the image file. This means if a file is 300ppi @ 100mm wide, its effective resolution drops to 150ppi @ 200mm wide.

Photographic Images for 4 Colour Process Printing/CMYK

High resolution jpegs for screen printing CMYK are preferred supplied at 600ppi for the sharpest possible result, although 300ppi is definitely workable.

Other acceptable file formats include ".eps" ".tiff" and ".psd" (all Photoshop formats) or print ready ".pdf".

The same high resolution requirement of 600ppi applies.

Please do not supply

File formats such as MS Word, PowerPoint or doc, bmp, png or gif files.

These files rarely have high enough resolution to be workable.

Artwork Approval

Once your artwork is received in the correct format and resolution we will email you an image proof showing the size and placement of your logo on your chosen promotional product.

Once this proof is approved we can proceed with production.

This is an important step to make sure you receive ideal and consistent high quality branding.
